DYNAMESH SUBSTRACTION errors

Hello, to the grain, i am having really annoying problems when i use dynamesh to substract an tool shape from another tool.

This happens to me with “advanced models”, i tried to do the substraction with the basic tools, like: dynameshing(with substract activated ofcourse) a normal mesh from the dynameshed tool.

I tried substrackting a dynamesh tool from the dynamesh tool, i tried having the original tool with higer and lower poly count than the tool to substract with and all those were good, worked, (using only the basic tool like cilinder, cube sphere etc etc)

But then, i need to substract a HINGE from a wooden column (to make pegs holes to then insert the hinges and make a door) and i fails at SO MANY LEVELS i dont know what to do. i have had to reboot Zbrush like 50-75 to make i work, trying always small changes, and i could make some “complex” substraction after 2 hours, when it should have take only 5 minutes to do.

So i am looking some answers or advices of which could be source of the errors.

Here i uploaded a screenshot, the yellow marked are the HINGES, they are one TOOL, and i want to substract them from the wooden trunks to make the “insert peg” holes, and then the errors that appears.

The memory error is totally “fake”, it happens even with 10k polys tools.

Ok, thats allfor now, please if someone knows something i will preciate A LOT the reply.

Are you merging the main tool down to the one you are subtracting from it? If so, try setting the little boolean icon in the tool slot from double circle to single circle.

I have found that it is best to subtract one bit at a time. I’ve had problems in the past when I have 2 or three bits that I try to subtract.
