Dynamesh Resolution Remeshing Problem

I import an .obj file as a new tool. I want to remesh to a lower resolution it in the typical way by using Dynamesh > Resolution. It will not lower the resolution.

While posting this topic, it hit me that in most cases, when I import a mesh as a tool, it arrives in ZbrushCore at a very large scale. So large you cannot see it unless you re Frame the scene or zoom out. So I tried to laboriously rescale it using the Gizmo tool. I eventually got it down to a scale that fits the default scene scale. Then at this point, I tried to remesh it at a lower resolution, and it worked. So seems resolution of a mesh if directly related to the scale of that mesh in the 3D space of Zbrush Core. This is a bit anoying.

Anyone dealt with this problem? Is there a way to import a mesh at have it be scaled in an appropriate way to the ZbrushCore scene scale?

The DynaMesh resolution is for a cube of specific dimensions which is then repeated in all directions. So if your model is very large a low resolution may not reduce the polygon count for the model.

If you think your model is either too large or too small you can press Tool>Deformation>Unify. This will resize the model so that it is the optimum size for ZBrushCore.
