DynaMesh resolution problem

Hello there,

I’m having a problem with DynaMesh. I’ve got a ~870 000 poly 3D model, and when I’m trying to increase resolution it just won’t do anything (starting from 200 reso). But when I’m decreasing reso it works perfectly fine. Also it works when I use Shift + D (icreases up to 56mil). Scaling the object doesn’t help.

Those are steps that I’ve made creating this object:
ZSphere > Adaptive skin > Sculpting & DynaMesh

Specs:
-ZBrush 2018
-Windows 10
-1080 GTX
-i7 6800k
-32 GB RAM

Remember that DynaMesh is meant for shape exploration. (See the online documentation, which starts right out by saying it’s for Base Mesh creation.) It is not meant for detailing. Once you have gotten the overall shape to where you want it, turn DynaMesh off. Then use standard Tool >> Geometry features to divide the mesh so that you can detail it.

Thank you kind sir!

I am maxing out on 2.4 mil when using dynamesh. Now the odd thing is I was watching a tutorial on a model/figure that was gong to be 3D printed and his total points where close to 24 million while using dynamesh, so I know it’s possible I just don’t know how to get more res? I’ve tried sliding the dynamesh res all the way up as well as scaling the model up and the odd thing is when I scale it up it actually decreases to 1.5 mil. What am I missing/ doing wrong?

I’m having this same issue. Don’t understand how increasing the model scale and resolution is resulting in even lower poly counts. Des_pair.
