Dynamesh polycount too high for viewport. Help

Hey folks, I’m importing my mesh from Max and then want to Dynamesh it nicely to work with different alpha brushes and stuff like that. The problem is in order to have nice and highres enough scuplts from those alphas or custom brushes I need to crank up the Dynamesh resolution up to 1200-1400 sometimes to be able to work with those details without any jagged edges and stuff like that. But then the mesh is getting reaaly heavy giving zbrush’s viewport really hard times.

So how do you deal with this folks? Currently I have around 5-7 subtools and after Dynameshing they’re almost unusable because of super dense geo and late viewport response…

Thanks in advance!

dynamesh is for forms

subD is for details

Once you have even topo using dynamesh you need to start using subDs instead.

Ok, but how do I convert high density Dynamesh to SubDs?

Just turn off Dynamesh when you are done with the form, and hit subdivide in the Geometry palette when you need more polys.

Ok, so that’s what I have right after importing my mesh - it’s nice and sharp but has unusable polygons:

That’s how it looks after Dynameshing it:

And that’s after ZRemeshing it:

Am I doing it right? Then after ZRemesh I just have to subdivide it a few times right?

yep. you got it.
