Dynamesh piece won't subtract merged subtool?

I’m at my wits end with this one. So I have a head and a torso that I’m attempting to prepare for 3D printing, both are dynameshed( no material/polypaint assigned ) so I click the seconds boolean symbol as I’ve always done, merge the head down to the torso, control drag… and nothing. The torso disappears like it should but there is no subtraction to the head/neck. Things I have tried: I’ve exported the head and reimported it re-dynameshed it and it still doesn’t work. I’ve reversed the process, merged torso with head and dynamesh works as it supposed when subtracting the head, I’ve tried different dynameshed items with torso and all work. But the head for some odd damn reason just won’t work correctly.

The head is dynameshed.

No material or polypaint assigned.

The part of the head I need the torso to subtract is protruding into torso as it should.

So the problem is somewhat fixed. First both head and torso would dynamesh correctly with ANY OTHER mesh, but not each other. In order for them to work with one another they both had to be centered on the pivot.
