Does anyone know how to dynamesh different subtools together while keeping the polycounts and detail with subtools that have been made in different ways. The head was made with a dynameshed sphere, the torso was originally an insert mesh and the arms, hand and legs were made with zsperes. when I try and put them all together and dynamesh weld them together into 1 mesh with all their polys added together into 1 they transform in to a low detail mesh. I have them all on the same dynamesh resolution. Ive tried duplicating, and remeshing with zremesher then sub dividing back to roughly the same poly countthen projecting the detail from the original subtools and some of the mesh has big dents or holes in them. Ive no idea how to fix that but would prefer to keep them as a full detail dynamesh so I can continue working on it as 1 mesh. Thjanks for any help in advance as this 1 is driving me nuts lol.
you have the right idea. Dynamesh, then Zremesh, subD and project. Then you need to clean up the projection errors using masking and different projection settings and/or the zproject brush. A lot of the times you’ll have to just clean it up by hand and re sculpt areas as well.
Thanks very much. I had an idea that was they way to go. I’m relatively new to zbrush, started learning a few months ago so still finding my footing. I’d previously made a character al from spheres and cylinders which seemed to dynamesh together fine for some reason. I’m guessing because of their lower polys and that they were made the same way. It’s an awesome programne but gosh I’ve still got a lot to learn.
Thanks again

it’s a difference when you start rebuilding during dynamesh process:
it makes a difference if you press additional Shift or Ctrl (don’t know exactly which key was for which function)
one key was for keeping objects separate and not to melt then together… just try out
Thanks I’ll give it a try. I’m just adding some more features and details to the head and body before joining them though.
