Dynamesh heavily distorts my obj?

I’ve started dabbling in dynamesh and it’s been quite fun. However, I seem to have a problem.

This is my obj before activating dynamesh

This is my obj after activating dynamesh. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong that causes such a bad distortion on my object and I have no clue how to fix it. I’ve tried hiding the outer borders but it just distorts the borders of the dynamesh. Is there something I can do to fix this?

This is because your model is too thin, 2 faces are too close back to back, before activating dynamesh inflate the borders and you wont get that problem, or use more dynamesh resolution.

Another way to fix it without modifying the object form would be assign different polygroups to each face (back and front) and dynamesh activating the group button in dynamesh options.

Or maybe if you don’t want the object separated in groups with dynamesh that I think it makes some bevel between groups, would be delete the back face, dynamesh, sculpt and then do a mirror and weld to the z axis once its finished, this only in case you want to have the same faces at front and back.

Is it possible to seperate an obj into polygroups and only dynamesh selected polygroups? I’m trying to preserve the outer vertices/faces as tis is for Daz3d and requires an identical set of faces for geografting.
