dvd recomendations

would anyone recommend the dvd by Alex Alvarez, called Head sculpting and texturing?

http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/aal01.html

I got a little extra cash to spend and am thinking it may help jump start…has anyone worked with this dvd?

I have all the Gnomon ZBrush titles plus one by Kurv…

Alex Alvarez’s is good but very specific to one task, basically making a head & texturing it… If you don’t really know ZB that well & want to learn it all then I’d maybe go with Meats “introduction” (Gnomon) or Glen Southern’s “get into ZB” (Kurv). But saying that, Alex’s is a good DVD, very good in fact, but only you know what you really need.

Hope this helps

The dvd from kurv is great… it got the basics of z-brush and a modelling and texturing of a head a alien head

I would say that you would learn most from that dvd…

I have been working with zbrush for a while, and even used as part of the workflow for a couple of commerial things, but I know I am barely touching the surface of what it can do.
I am looking for something a bit more specific into texturing since that is what I will mostly be using it for, so that is why that dvd caught my eye.

What is the dvd by kurv? where can I find that?

Thanx

But seeing as though it’s mainly texturing you want, Alex’s is very good for an intro into that but also checkout Aaron Simms Gnomon DVD…

You get 150 free skin alphas too…

I’ve got Meats intro, Alex’s head dvd, and Petrocs human anatomy. I’ve got Aaron Sims alpha dvd in the mail as well. Of the ones I own, Alex’s is the one I view most, currently. I can do shapes, and have the shortcuts memorized, etc. Meats into coveres textures, etc fairly well, and Alex’s is pretty good to. If I had the money, I’d get them all. If I could only have one I’d go with Alex’s (not including Aaron’s since I’ve not seen it yet).

Thanx…this helps alot
