DUKE : Doom movie

Hi Guys…i’m doing a realistic face this time and this guy is from Doom Movie. I didnt had good refrence images, so tried to achieve as best as i can. I might have some proportion problems. Anyways, its still a wip, so please comments, where am i wrong, and what can be done to make him better.

Basic box modeled in maya, then done refinement in zbrush, then skin detailing and renders all done in zbrush. This is just a basic color with cavity render…eyes are photoshopped

ooh btw…this is 115,0976 polys with 6th subdiv level…i couldn’t go higher on my pc ;(

I think the biggest problem is that the face is too wide and circular, his face is narrower and more angular. I would also make the nose a bit “stronger”. It also looks like the forehead is sticking too far out, but its hard to tell without a sideview, it just looks like his brow does not stick out. I would try to make the chin wider “its not that pointy”. Maybe push the neck in from the sides to make a stronger jawline. Keep working and you can probably get a good likeness.

looks overall pretty good to me…except the neck…am not sure what it is but it’s too unnatural to me…more tree trunk like which sounds harsh and i don’t mean it to be just don’t know exactly how to describe what i see i guess. Maybe its just the overuse of wrinkles that make it seem over the top or out of proportion…not sure.

Anyways…keep at it…he’s looking good!!

JohnnyBoy : oo boy nice comments…sometimes continously working on something i dont see major faults…but yeah i tweaked it a bit acc to bad refs i have of him…see this pic his face looks soo different from the movie poster…maybe he did surgery for the movie

the neck looks better! give the guy an adams apple or a hint of one and ya go it!!

multi-markers would be a way to put him in a scene. I recommend checking out the zscripts in the help menu of zbrush first to see how they work…and practice them a few times to see then go get Marcus_Civus’s Marker Master plugin which will help making them easier to use. Also if it’s still available watch Lemonnado’s video on how to use it.

good luck!
