Draw Size Will Decrease but Not Increase

Hello there!

I seem to run into this issue whenever I update Zbrush and am never sure of how to fix it. I am able to use the standard [ shortcut to decrease my draw size, however, the ] shortcut won’t increase my draw size. Instead, it brings up the mini draw size palette.
The same happens when I attempt to use the wheel on my tablet. I’ve attempted to set the hotkey by the control + alt method, clicking on the draw size panel and then hitting ], but this only sets it so that the draw size palette pops up when I hit ] (or scroll up on my wheel).
I have attempted to restore shortcuts and this hasn’t worked. Not sure how to fix this. Would greatly appreciate any help.

Thank you!

Go here and check to see if the last two lines are included in your “StartupHotkeys.TXT” file. If they are not, copy and paste them into that file then save.

@zber2 Thank you so much. I found this file wasn’t even in my 2020 Zbrush folder.

For anyone else experiencing this issue, I just made a .txt file in notepad and copied in the original StartupHotkeys.TXT contents from the ZBrush documents. Worked perfectly.

Just to clarify: there won’t be a StartupHotkeys.txt file at Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData\ZStartup\Hotkeys (on Windows) or \Users/Shared/ZBrushData/ZStartup/Hotkeys/ (on MacOSX) until a custom hotkey is saved within ZBrush and the hotkeys stored (Preferences>Hotkeys>Store). Until then, ZBrush will use the file in the ZBrush installation at ZBrush 2020\ZStartup\HotKeys. If you create a hotkeys file, make sure to copy over the default hotkeys from that file.

You’re welcome and sorry for the confusion. I thought that since you tried to set hotkeys that that file would be present. Glad you got it sorted out. :+1:

@marcus_civis Thanks Marcus!
