Dragonlance covers

Here is some of the work that I’ve been doing with Zbrush lately. I did these covers for a comic book called Dragonlance: Chronicles published by Devil’s Due. Some of the modeling and rendering was done in 3ds max, but the majority of the work was done in Zbrush. …I hope you like the covers!

That’s a great Lord Soth! Nice stuff!

Very nice work indeed J  :+1: Great covers and subject matter!

They both look great. But the first one really tickles my fancy. Love the use of colors in that one.

impressive, your use of color is very cool. good luck with the comic!

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

Lemonnado: I really like your cube zscript, It’s going to be very useful!!!

KrakenCMT: I’m a big fan of your work! The Dragon you did was spectacular, I’ve also been following your Conan WIP and it’s looking great!

Tartan: I enjoy working in the D&D universe, I’m used to working on superhero books so this is completely new for me.

TVeyes: Thanks so much! The stuff that you’ve been doing with Zbrush 3 is incredible! …I thought that I couldn’t be more excited about Z3, until I saw those beta images!!!

Reminds me of Spell Force 2 human Titan. :+1:

really great work you got going there. you have any more?

5 stars from me…well deserved.

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

your Lord Soth is incredible… and your other illustration reminds me so very much of the generic D&D adventuring party of the 70s & 80s, but with some zbrush wizardry thrown in

Thanks again for all the great comments!!! I love posting on this forum, ZBC is the best!

Salmon god: I am thrilled that you find these covers reminiscent of the old D&D art! I was very inspired by those classic paintings while I was working on these covers.

Skinneybonez: I’m working on the cover for Dragonlance #9 right now, and I have a lot more stuff that I’ll be posting soon… But, for now here’s some of the Zbrush work that went into those images.

Very interesting illustration technique and great result! The first image is amazing! Top row!

Lil’sister: Wow, Thank you!!! …very kind words from a Zbrush master!!!

I’ve been experimenting with this technique for a long time. …and it’s very satisfying to see that people are responding to the work in such a positive way!

it’s a great example of ZBrush’s ability to composite a whole bunch of seperate, high-density items into one big high-density image that wouldnt have been possible otherwise… best illustration tool ever

and I agree about top row!

wow! how could i missed this thread.
these illustrations are great!
top row for sure!
