I saw in another thread that you mentioned ComicCon. Any chance you’ll be attending the one in San Diego in July?
Hi Stacey. My business associate and I were planning on attending the one in San Diego but we wanted to give our selves enough time (both to prepare the work and gather money).
But I will tell you, how I wished I could have made it to ComicCon San Diego.
I am sure we will hit it next year, as it is one of the bigger ones (as I am sure you know).
I take it; you will not be able to make it to WW Chicago?
Speaking of all this, I also take it that you are into comic books as well? If so, let’s talk some more. I am always interested in speaking to others that have the same interest as I.
Real quick, I received some fantastic news last week. One of the color houses (perhaps you have heard of them: Hi-Fi design) is interested in hiring me as a colorist. They work with all the major studios i.e. Marvel, DC, Top Cow, Dark Horse, Chaos etc. They color such books as X-men, Uncanny X-men, Avengers and many others.
They just sent me some line art to color. I will be doing so over the weekend. If things do not go the way I think they are going to go at WW, then at least I will still be ‘in’ by working with a color house. Too cool. Can you imagine coloring a classic as the X-men? Heck, I grew up on it. ; - )
Well, like I just mentioned, lets talk.
Hope to hear from you soon Stacey. And perhaps we will see each other next year at ComicCon San Diego.
Take care, Dragon out.
I would love it if you could make it hear next year! Congratulations on what sounds like a wonderful new contract! I hope you get overwhelmed with work
I have been into comics and collectibles for years. Some of the things I’m most proud of: A sketch of a shi cover signed by Billy Tucci, 2 signed sketches by Don Bluth, and 2 page illustrations of Wolverine signed by Jim Lee :)I have lots of other stuff, but it would take me forever to list them all! The XMen are definitely my favorites.
I’ll be sure to give you a report as soon as I get back from comicon!
Hi again Stacey. I knew it. This is way cool. Wow, all that stuff is going to be worth alot of money some day. It must have been real neat for you to have met all these folks.
Let me know how it goes at San Diego this year. Give me every detail. And if you can, see if you can meet Jim Valentino. I would like to know how he is in person. I have spoken to him up on the message board at Image Central and he seems to be a real down to earth dude. Why do I want to Know? I plan to approach him at WW Chicago with our comic book and I would like to be well prepared. Know what I mean? I am sure you do.
Well, have tons of fun and get back with me as soon as you can.
Till the next one.
Dragon out.
Hi Stacey. So how was it?
