Dragon Head, my first model

It’s been slow going, and I’m still exploring zbrush. I’ve spend 15 minutes here and there messing around with models, but never seriously took the time on one. This is my first attempt, and I chose a dragons head because that’s one of the first things I ever had drawn when I was 8 or so. I blame D&D for getting me into art.

If I where to do it again, I definatly would have left the teeth and horns out and rendered them seperate. Also would have dropped the lower jaw, easier to work in the mouth that way I’m guessing. Going to try and tackle color next I suppose. Somewhat intimidated by that (And lights). 121 welcome.

Very good first attempt man.Continue so.

Haven’t touchted the head till today, but finally started to throw some color at it. Still needs lots of works, but it’s getting there. Going to go back into the mouth and do a fleshy purple. The head looks a bit monochromatic still, but haven’t found colors I’m happy with. Adding in eyes will be fun I’m sure.

Decided that’s as far as I’m taking this one. Not good with miltimarkers yet, so decided not to add eyes to the model, just finished up the image in photoshop using the first pose from the test render above and do it all by hand. Hopefully it’s not too cluttered.
