Drag dot rotation

Is there a way to control the alpha rotation and brush position of a drag dot brush independently?
I cant use dragRect mode as i need precisely the same size and depth.

I was hoping there would be of a modifier key that lets me control the rotation once the alpha is over the desired spot. I tried all combinations of CTRL ALT and SHIFT I could think of but i either missed something or that’s not it.

Hello @3dsChobo ,

If you need that kind of control over the stroke, the Spotlight, Stencil, or Projection Master features may be a better fit.

The Thick Skin feature can be used to establish a fixed depth for any brush.

If the stroke is such that it could be created with real geometry, the IM brushes might give you additional options for control and placement. Holding Ctrl after inserting the mesh will draw it to a fixed size based on the DrawSize, and because it’s an actual mesh the placement can be adjusted. You could then project the detail from the inserted meshes onto the underlying mesh.

Thanks, thats quite a lot of suggestions!
Unfortunately spotlight, stencils and projectionmaster share the same weakness which is that the size of the alpha/texture is dependent on the zoom level of the model. While working on the model I wont be able to keep that consistent.

The alphas in question are 4 complete sets of fonts which is why PRS matters a great deal.
Turning all of them into 3D meshes for substracting actually has an edge over my carve brush approach but will take me days for the conversion i presume.
Also this introduces another problem which is that i need the topology to remain consistent because i want to animate the sculpting process using a displacement map thus i cant dynamesh unless I reproject onto my target topology for every substep i need to make for the animation.

Guess i keep redrawing the characters a lot to get them right.
