Looks good, I really dig the colors its got a really cool painted look.

Very nice sculpt , one thing I think you need to work is likeness of the face, I like the anatomy of the body pose as well but face looks bit maybe cartoony and aloso spec on your metal pats make me think they are for store shelves ( brand new :), add bit dirt or some kind of subtile noise but not to uniform, il will look more real and body color need more different pigmet not just one uniform look like skin colour ( I see you have some but I think need more
But I think if you continue tune up this render it will worth toprow.
Good work! Largely right, but a couple of things that have not yet been mentioned stand out. The body is not sitting on the rock with a proper sense of weight; his right thigh should compress vertically and flare out at the sides. Try sitting on the edge of a table and see what happens to your own leg.
The background rock is highly grooved and fissured, but this is not evident in the rock’s silhouette edge, which is relatively smooth. If this is a rendered image, try increasing the render-time subdivisions so it can catch more of the displacement map details.

I think in general your central area of focus is great (the man) however there is no connection that may cue the viewer as to what emotion he is having. Generally, an artist may have the man looking (as in his scene) at a city,battle scene, valley, etc… to cue the viewer as far as intent. That cue sets the mood for the character, he may be pensive, but why? what’s about to happen in the scene. It is the epitome of subtle form: calm yet pensive, powerful yet subdued, strong yet graceful.
I feel that your figure itself needs gravity. Look at the muscles of the load bearing leg, if we have weight on it the muscle is somewhat spread out. The body needs to lean more on the hand that is on the rock. The neck needs the tendon to have more tension, if he is rising for example there are other muscles that would come into play. His spear is too small and perfect, most would rest the spear on the ground , then have the shaft lean on the body. The hair on his helmet is too smooth and rather small.
I could go on, but until you decide what the figure is about to do i.e. get up, rest, really tired, alerted … etc… it would then dictate to me what the anatomy should look like.
let this not dissuade you, this is a strong style - well painted ( the body) and has a great potential, good luck and I really hope that you continue.

I’ve made four variants of my picture with diffrent backgrounds. Can you tell me wich of them is better?
And one more question. I removed the shield in the picture. But I think without the shield the left lower corner seems a little empty.
absolutely keep the shield and I personally would either go for the first version with the more complex background or the one with the darker hazier background.
the first one is the best but the angle on the background pohoto is really off, it was taken from high up, but the soldier seems to be at the same level as buildings, also its simes rotated a bit.
I agree completely with both of the above posts. And wow, that is a really well done sculpt!
looking gr8! the torso, the pelvic region and the arms are fantastic.just a small crit though. the knee on one of the legs looks dislocated. The face perhaps could have more flesh and detail. it looks too tight and is lacking in the subtle nuances the rest of the body has.
I think this one is the strongest.

Here’s a quick compositional comparison.
The brightness of the background on the left example draws too much attention away from the main subject, the warrior. The one on the right puts the background in the background and keeps the subject in the viewer’s eye.

very nice work, you have really captured the feeling of a classic painting.
I really like ‘Variant 3’, the background is not too bright, and the colours work well together, the last few are too dark in my opinion, almost looks like smog/pollution.
I look forward to seeing some more!

Hello everybody) I’m glad my work is given much attention and I want to thank everyone for comment to my picture. It’s almost finished. I made the tree leafs proportional to the figure. Here are several variants. Can you tell me which of them is better?
