Hi All
I tried to express the touch of my 2D illustration (I use Painter) with ZBrush.
You put lots of character into this illustration Hiroshi. You have managed to recreate what makes your 2d illustrations unique. I like it a lot. Kudos!
could you please tell your material configuration?
that a cool material and a great work!
Hi Hiroshi
Trying completly successful, Bravo
Pilou
A new genetic hybrid and a superb image in one package. The texture on the tongue adds a very subtle touch to the texturing.
Nice Creation!
nice. lower lip reminds me of the guy on cover of warcraft III, someone should try that!
Hi, Hiroshi !
I am a fan of your work !
I wanted to point the fact that you can easily “emulate” some traditional painting with the Fiberbrush.
Here are 2 quick tries with your picture.
(Sorry for using your own picture, I have not much works under Zbrush).
Nice image! Brovic, that is a pretty cool technique. Would you care to share how you achieved this. Did you simply aply the brush using the colors on the picture already. :qu:
Hi Dmerchen
I think that Rgb Off is the only thing to do and after you will can experiment all the magic Brushes
Pilou
Hey, no Frenchy Pilou.
The RGB must be on and all the other Draw stuff off. In fact, it’s a little more complicated than that…
Here is a quick tutorial (of course you may adapt the process to your needs):
- fill a layer with the wanted picture.
- "Dup"licate the Layer (you will work in that second layer)
- open the Picker panel and select “other” (so the colors will be picked on the first layer.)
- expand the Picker panel and select “Cont color”
- now select the “FiberBrush” tool.
- in the FiberBrush:modifiers select “Flat color”
- in the “Draw” panel unselect all but “RGB”
Now that’s just a question of adjustment.
For example for an oil painting look : - Draw:
Rgb Intensity = 100 - FiberBrush:modifiers:
Density = 100
Gravity = 0
Grooming = 100
Turbulence = 0 or low value
For a pencil/pastel look : - although same thing but Grooming ~0 and Turbulence ~100
Of course the Draw size is important and you must adjust the stroke direction and intensity according to your feeling and the nature of the picture.
There are a lot of possible combinations. For example you can have nice effects while using textures, DrawRect, etc…
Hi Brovic
Thx for the explanation
Sure that’s help many Zbrushers
I shall test it as soon as I some time !
My first impression was maybe wrong (I shall test too
Pilou
Hi Brovic
My first impression was good too
It’s just a very quickly test of my method
RGB off
Zadd off
FiberBrush color backGround and settings as you want
Picker Colors Continuous
I think it’s not more complicated
Of course here I don’t refine the settings of the fiberbrush, I made this in 10 secondes just for testing
Pilou
Ps As many method as Zbrushers
Hi Frenchy Pilou,
my method seems a little complicated but its main advantage is that you can play as much as you want with the picture without deterioring it because :
1 - the picker is still taking its informations from the original picture (in layer 1)
2 - my settings (Draw:RGB only and FiberBrush:Flat Color, etc…) don’t damage the color information.
It’s difficult to explain all that correctly with my poor english but try to play a few minutes in a little area using your method and then using mine you will understand what I mean.
Hi Brovic
The comic of the situation is that I am french (for the poor Brovic’s english :D)
I would have right My method is a little destructrive but I have not change the original settings of the fiberbrush !
I don’t miss to try the 2 methods as soon as I shall have freetime and concentration
Pilou
Thank you very much.
Hi Okislev
I didn’t do a difficult setting of the material.
The point makes DiffuseCurve in a straight line, and ColorBump by noise.
Hi Brovic
It’s NICE! It seems real paints. Or image by “STUDIO ARTIST”.
