I am attempting to project my entire subtool onto my HD Mesh but I’m limited. Is there any way I can project onto my entire HD Mesh without being restricted to the circular HD Selection?
http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/3d-modeling/modeling-basics/subdivision-levels/hd-geometry/ tells you how it is able to work. You read and understand it all? May take getting used to. Up to a billion polygons…that’s way more than you said you needed.
Yes but it fails to explain how to utilize it when trying to project onto my entire HD Mesh rather than the area specified only by the circular selection. This means I can only project onto the HD Circle.
I gave my mesh HD Sub Levels so I may have enough resolution to project my sub tool onto it. C’mon Doug, you know what I’m trying to accomplish here, you read my other thread. You know that I’m trying to combine all of my 9 million model parts into one mesh. In order for me to do this I need to be able to project my HD Sub Tools in their entirety onto my primary HD character Mesh.

Seems like you’re going way overboard… I know what you wish for, what you wish for may be unnecessary. That’s about 3 opinions now. . I’ve been here with a model before and was duly informed about technique and…millions of polys.
Yes, Sir, I watched that one. I’m simply wondering if what I’m asking is even possible.
For question purposes I want to know if I can apply displacement or a texture directly to an HD Subdivided mesh. Whenever I hit “Apply Displacement” it never applies to my HD subdivision levels, only the ones I can see out of HD Mode. HD Mesh also seems to do away with UVs. Is HD Mode highly biased towards maps and UVs?
So tell me, how do I do this. I want to apply my texture and alpha map to my HD Mesh. How do I do this?
