Does anyone employ a SILO-based workflow?

I was curious if anyone was primarily using SILO to create their base meshes?

I use Silo all the time for both creating base meshes and doing a new topology. Love it. I have even converted most of our character department over to it. Did you have a more specific question/problem you need an answer to?

No, just generally curious. I bought it some time ago, based largely on the Glen Southern promotional videos. I found out after the fact that my lack of a sufficiently-capable OpenGL card made it unusable.

I hope to get a new computer soon, and so was thinking of getting back into it then.

I think Silo is one of the best purchases I’ve made. It still needs a couple of tools and bug fixes, but it more than makes up for it in ease of use. It’s also faster to polymodel in it than any other program I’ve used.

I feel bad that the product does not seem to be that supported any more. That unexpected expiration of the last beta and subsequent standing in the dark and the constant whining and wailing on their product forums make it a bit unnerving to actually integrate it into anything commercial in my place.
