Following a tutorial on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IhTQVIZIeg), the guy has set his document to a 1024 square, and brought his .obj in and it fits perfectly. I tried the same, and its not the same size. Can’t seem to understand why. Any advice please?

When there’s not enough interface space to show a document at actual size some of it will be hidden - the ZBrush window only shows part of it. You will need to use the Document>Zoom to zoom out the document so you can see it all. Zooming the document doesn’t affect the size of image that is exported.
Thanks Marcus, that helped! Clicking Zoom Out didn’t do it, but adjusting the slider next to it did.
Yes, or you can click+drag inside the square Zoom button in the row above.
