Doctor Doom

I’ve watched this forum for a couple of years now in awe. I’m a complete hobbyist. I liked to draw, so I got into Poser as a drawing aid. I got into zBrush to make stuff for use in Poser, stuff that wasn’t available prefab. This is something I’m putting together towards that end.

So you’ll be using what you’re doing in ZBrush in Poser? I remember playing with Poser here and there when I was younger and just beginning to dabble in cg. I’d suggest using ZBrush more. Your stuff shows promise and Poser is pretty limited. You might try posing with ZSpheres and commit to what you’ve got there instead of going back to Poser.

The face in particular is looking pretty cool. If you’re going to be in ZBrush anyway, you should consider subdividing your geometry to smooth out those hard polygon edges. Any full body images?

Poser render of Doctor Doom modeled in zBrush. Castle background is not original.

It may be worth mentioning that the fabric bits were modeled in zBrush and then draped in Poser before bringing them back into Zbrush to sculpt in additional folds and details. I tried to keep the polycount down for Poser use (the chain links still being way more heavy than they need to be) knowing that Poser would also smooth out the edges.

Great job. I can’t wait to see how you finish this model. Try to use natural matcap like MatCap Gray
