Hi guys,
this is my first ever character using ZBrush. This is a render after 10 hours, was wondering if you can help me to make this look better? also what is the best way of adding skin, poly-painting or spotlight?
thanks
depends on the (level of detail \ size of maps) and (ram\processor speed) you have. But the old standby would be zapplink plugin with Photoshop after doing some polypainting to add some base colors.
10 hours???..what were you doing for 9 hours 55 minutes?
10 hours…this is after installing ZBrush, getting use to the software and start sculpting…maybe not as fast as you but I am doing ok.
No need for that…
 why would you even want to post something like that?
Nice start Eddy from what i can see the mouth needs more definition and from memory I think the eyes should be bigger, are you using reference images?
I’ve noticed that that’s the type of posting that ministerart excells at.
I like it eddy coming along well. Keep at it and have fun. That’s what’s important.
As far as polypainting or spotlight, they each have their stong and weak points. If you do everyting with just projecting photos onto your models, especially faces, with spotlight only it’ll look a little fakey but there are other times that spotlight is the perfect tool for the effect you need. It’ll be to your benefit to get a hadle on both, to the point where you understand when one is better than the other for the project at hand. Don’t forget, they are not mutually exclusive. I think many use a combination of the two. Also keep in mind that the material you use will also affect the look you get using eithr of aforementioned methods. Experiment, enjoy the learning, it’s all fun.
