Hiya!
Ummmmm, Wings is fashoned after another IZware product called NENDO…
Nendo is the modeling program for Mirai.
Nendo is a very old piece of software… Originaly developed for the nintendo 64 game system…
I hope when it comes back it is alot cheeper, last year I looked at it and they wanted $3000.00 for it…
I would buy it for 200$ but not 3000$
When I worked at Raven, there was a team who used it… it is very fast to develop things, everything works together in real time…
it has some bad bugs in it… it dose not like windows XP, the team I saw useing it made a windows 98 partition on hard disk to make it more stable.
all in all tho, it is a great set of tools…I like how everything works in real time…
just what I was thinking, I hope Mirai is a hell of a lot cheaper, or else they will price themselves out of the market.
With Maya and LW being 2000$ and below it’s a no contest for Mirai.
Why would you buy Nendo for 200.00 when Wings3d is free and is much more powerful when it comes to modeling than is Nendo?
I mean sure Nendo has a paint option, but that’s what ZBrush is for, and yea, Wings is huge on the feature list re modeling
Oh, and if Silo ever gets a bridge tool within, I can tell ya that this app is destined for greatness when it comes to modeling ease.
The developers of Silo have come up with a Wings/Marai like method of interacting re mouse controls in the latest version 1.2, and when utilizing hot keys for modeling you don’t even have to click out between ops such as extrude, scale etc as you now do in Wings. This adds up to many less clicks along the whole process of modeling, and provides for very quick traditional model, along with having the options to use Manips when you want them. Very Cool
and only 99.00
Mirai is much more than a modeler (and Nendo is not a part of Mirai per se). Nendo was the old modeler. Marai is its own modeler. In any case Marai is a modeler, render, full animation, 3D paint, compositing package on par with programs like Maya Unlimited, 3D Studio MAX (with several expensive plugins) and others. So Wings comes nowhere near what Mirai was or is.
