DNA dilemma

Greetings, I am trying to create a Double Helix.
I thought it would be as easy as using the helix tool >scaling in the y and mirroring…but it looks more like an old phone cord!

If anyone has any suggestions or have already created a DNA helix please post
thanks!

If your single strand is running along the z-axis, you will need to mirror it in both the
X and Y axes at the same time.

I’m afraid I have a head cold am in no real state to say why, except that DNA double helices are anti-parallel; i.e. the two strands are identical chemically (or as good as) but run in opposite directions.

To make the single strand I found it easiest to first make a flat ring out of zsphere and then move each consecuative zsphere out along one axis to which movement has been constrained.

…uh you lost me at “hello” :stuck_out_tongue:

Would you mind posting an image?
words confuse me.
Thanks!

You must use a script like Zplace (but a little bug exist yet on the Yrotation for a perfect DNA  ) but this very old script makes the good trick

If you look my gallery I have made some things very more complicated than a double helix
