Hi all,
I’ve come to the render stage of my sculpt and I am easily able to crossover via GoZ to render using Mental Ray in Maya. I am able to render with just UV textures applied in minutes, though once I add just a displacement map (even without a normal map applied) it adds 5+ hours to my render time…? is this normal? I dont think my sculpt is detailed enough to really warrant such an escalated time difference. Cant even get a render out with a displacement map on preview/draft render settings. Is my hardware that out of date or is there someting else im not doing?
