Disable Spacebar popup menu hotkey.

Hi, I find spacebar menu useless for me. I would like to use spacebar+other keys for hotkeys setup. Zbrush allows assigning spacebar to hotkey but that pop up ruins everything. Any way to unassign spacebar from that popup, disable it or something?

2 solutions

  1. use autohotkey

  2. "You can actually assign any hotkey you want to the Preferences>Interface>Misc>Quick Menu button but that won’t remove the spacebar behaviour

I feel you man. Sometimes my thumb misses the alt key and presses spacebar and enlarging the draw size as a result. It gets annoying sometimes

I could use hotkeys and remap spacebar to something else but the problem is there is another bull**** menu ctrl+spacebar. I wont be able to access this menu anymore and I can’t find how to remap this menu and I can’t drag out the buttons from it.
Why is this not fixed? This would be easy to fix.

  1. Just make spacebar on popup optional/able to remap
  2. Remove ctrl+spacebar menu completely and put those buttons somewhere else, so we can simply drag them into our custom menu if we want.
  3. And another thing, mouse left click camera rotation is annoying. I use right click to rotate camera, I don’t need left click to rotate it either (outside object). Give option to disable it. If you try to draw with mouse on edge sometimes you miss and rotate camera instead of drawing. Then you have to reposition camera again and try to draw again, waste of time.

If you know someone who works on Zbrush team, pass this to them so that maybe it can be fixed. Thanks.

as i mentioned before , use autohotkey and remap the spacebar key to something else
that will also get rid of the secondary menu that opens up when you press ctrl+spacebar

here’s an example you can plug into autohotkey (just tried it and it works)

i:small_orange_diamond:space
space:small_orange_diamond:i
(not sure they there’s orange arrows apperaing, but its suppose to be : : next to each other, no spaces)

changes the ā€˜i’ keyboard key into the ā€˜spacebar’ key
changes ā€˜spacebar’ key into the ā€˜i’ key

change the ā€˜i’ key to anythine else

Ok thanks but they should fix those things in future. I should not have to use some external script for simple things like this.

Why should anyone have to download an external program to simply ā€œunmapā€ a default shortcut? While autohotkey is very useful for a number of programs, it is really stupid that we cannot disable the ā€˜Quick Menu’ entirely. Any default key should be allowed to be remapped, no exceptions.
