Disable select all lower Subtool layers

I was wondering if it’s possible to somehow turn OFF Zbrush selecting All lower Subtools when “START” is activated on a layer to boolean some layers ?

I need to make several selections of tools to create some booleans, and every time I enable the visibility of the Layer where the Boolean starts, the visibility of all lower layers is affected as well and I have to disable the selection of several Subtool Layers again and again.

I’ve been using Zbrush for a very long time, and this has been bugging me a lot. So I thought maybe its time to finally figure if there’s a secret way to disable this ?

I’ve been searching, but could not find any solution.

Still on 2022.0.8

Gracias.

Hi @toonafish !

There are a couple things you could do:

  1. Group the subtools in question into a folder. From there you can more easily control the visibility of a limited set of subtools, and the behavior you describe does not occur when the subtools are grouped in a folder. This also allows you to use the “Boolean Folder” option to create the boolean mesh directly in the folder and not in the Tool menu.

  2. Visibility sets (V1, V2, V3, etc. buttons at the top of the subtool palette) allow you to store a number of visibility presets for your subtool list. If they are ever all toggled on, you can quickly return to the stored configuration.

Hope that helps!

Dropping the layers in a folder does the trick, didn’t know that.

Thanks.
