Disable Auto Dynamic Brush Size / Photoshop Brushfeel in Zbrush Polypaint?

Hello!

I was wondering whether there was a way to disable Dynamic Brush Size;
or rather, disable the automatic switch to it whenever I use a brush that “works best with dynamic enabled”.
Sadly the dynamic brush size seems to be global, so when I switch back to my “normal” brushes, they’re still in dynamic mode.

And also I’ve been trying to get Polypainting in Zbrush to feel as close as possible to Photoshop’s Brushes…
The Airbrush feel of Zbrush’s default polypainting never felt quite right to me, as it is hard to control how much paint is applied,
even with a very low RGB Intensity. I found that using the Layer Brush to polypaint with ZIntensity set to 0 (disabling Zadd will make polypainting REALLY funky) gets fairly close to it, cause it let’s you set the max “opacity” applied per stroke, just like in PS.
However, it’s still a bit wonky…So, I just wanted to ask whether anyone has figured out a way to recreate the Photoshop feel.
Thanks for your time and attention!

Have you tried clicking on the ‘dyn’ on the icon to disable it and then save the brush as your own creation?

There are loads of settings in the Brush palette that you can change…

As for polypainting: can’t really help you there as to me Photoshop is not a norm. I stay with cs5 and don’t think I’ll ever upgrade …

in this version you need to push SHIFT when click Dynamic on brush size slider to turn off, then you can save it with Config on Preferences

hey Erik Heyninck, thanks for your reply!
I haven’t tried that yet, I will give it a go and save a copy of the ZModeler brush without Dynamic on and see whether that stops the automatic enabling of it. EDIT: I tried saving it as a copy with it disabled, but it didn’t work…was worth a try, though!

Hello Doqpelgänger;
I am well aware, the question was about how to disable the automatic activation of Dynamic each time I switch to a brush that “works best with it”. not about how to simply turn it off.

Thank you for your replies!

I don’t think you can. I setup my dynamic to a shortcut key and use that. It’s faster than holding shift and clicking on it.

Using the Xtra Misc Tools Plugin?
I just installed that, and it works like a charm for 4R7x64…
I guess that will do for now.
Thanks for your reply!
