Dino Egg Sculpt

Hi everyone,

A few months ago, I did this painting for my son’s preschool auction.

As I am continuing to learn Zbrush, I thought this would be a good subject to noodle with. Here is the sculpt of the little raptor. Sculpted with a Zsphere base and then retopo’d.

As always, any crits and comments are welcome. I am hoping to export this as a 3D print someday but for now, I am just using this as an exercise. If anyone has any ideas on how best to set this up for 3D printing, I’d really appreciate it. I use Lightwave–but it tends to crash if I have files that are over a certain size. Anyway, please let me know what you think… Thanks y’all.

Maybe have a hole/crack in the egg so it looks like he just hached out of it…Seeing inside of the shell might add a whole new dimention to the piece…shadows ect…Just a passing thought that might be useful to you.:slight_smile:

SpiritDreamer, I actually thought about that–but I wanted him perched atop the egg as if to say “MINE!!” I still may add some cracks into the shell. It’s a little plain. Thanks for the comments everyone.

Raptors really scare me since I watched Jurassic Park as a kid. This is the first raptor which I find cute. :slight_smile:
