Does anyone know how to have more than one material present in a ZBrush sculpture? Is it done with masking somehow?
You can paint directly on the mesh like you would in any 2D app.
-
Select your base color and material you want to use then select “Mrgb”. Go to Color menu and click “Fill Object”.
-
Turn on “Mrgb” if you want to paint with material and color. Turn on “Rgb” if you want to paint with color only or select “M” if you want to paint with material only. Turn off “Zadd” and/or “Zsub” so you’re not sculpting. You can also play around with the Rgb Intensity slider. If you select a different brush, you will probably have to do these steps over again. Experiment with different Brushes, Strokes and Alphas.
Thanks so much for the advice! Does this apply to the free version of ZBrush on an IPad? It’s the device I’m currently using.
If you are referring to ZBrushCoreMini which is extremely limited, I think you might be out of luck. If you don’t have the buttons I mentioned in item 2, especially Mrgb, Rgb and M, then I don’t think it’s possible to do what you want to do. I am on the full version ZBrush 2022.0.8 and have no idea what is in your version. Sorry!
It’s all right! This isn’t extreme. It’s just extra knowledge that I wanted to know.
