Hi,all~
It’s my first post here.
This is one of my three models for my demo reel at VFS.
I made a base mesh in XSI and jumped into Z-brush to sculpt it and exported the actual mesh into XSI. It was the first sculpt attempt in Z-brush and I had fun with it. I’d like to know what you guys think about it.
Thanks~
ges what… 5 stras from me. Best work i seen in a long time, moustly becouse of the render :] Only thing left is to ask you to post more work here :]
2 thumbs up from me. I rally like the fianl rendering of your model. Excellent stuff.
Superb skin texture work. 5 stars without doubt fro me. the only weak area on this (if there is one) is maybe the nose area… the lack of detail distracts fro the rest of the model.
Wayne…
This is a really Fantastic render. It should be on the top row.
Nuff respect
great job…five stars from me.
Please can you post the original poly mesh imported from xsi?
thanks
great work here !
congratulation, I love it
5*
THAT’S WOW!!!
I like it a lot. Nice work.
…looks really superb, man…welcome here Rjays-dude
( the hands
are stunning…maybe a bit too oversized, but: I love it)
…a new TOPROW maybe
not only is this an awesome model/render, but it’s a really bad ass idea too!! it’s like he’s remorseful for what he has to do. or like a ninja, in meditation getting ready to go whoop some arse.
i’m sure i’m WAY oversimplifying…superb job though. i’d give it a 5!
Hey there!
Great work!
To be hyper critical, the blue veins are a little too strong on the main render, but this is class, real 5 star stuff!
Keep posting please!!!
Hi man , amazing works.
I’m still learning XSI and i have some question for you (if you have extra-time) :
- Did you make the UV in XSI or Zbrush?
- If you have done in XSI, which is your workflow;you "split " in many subprojection the whole body, or there is a better way to do this (for example splitting in separated UV hands, arm, body....)
im jealous of your amazing work, you should have your grim reaper fight steves anorexic spider chick.
This should be top row…
your skin texture work and render are amazing.
Thank you for the comments and compliments.
I really appreciate it.
And for the UV question ,I did a such a crappy job unwrapping it cuz I got lazy and didn’t have much time.
I unwrapped them all separate. (hands, head, body, forearms, upperarms plus hundreds of small pieces)I just wanted to make sure that nothing is overlapping. It is obviously not a good way to unwrap since it has less control to texture.
Joe What do you say? you’re not jealous, if you worked for a decent amount of time you would have made the coolest things in the class, you just needed to work more. It’s not too late and don’t waste your talent.
Shaded mode screen shots.

forgot to mention about something.
the things surrounding him on the ground are rose petals.
man…butt kicking awsome renders! i really like the mood for the one with background, you have come so far this year, you scare me the most in the class, i cant even imagine how good you will become in the future
great stuff!!
Thx man, for your reply
This is my step, tell me if somethingh is wrong:(sorry, but i’m noob ):
- If you unwrap in XSI the whole body mesh (head, hands, feet…)
- select the poligon or cluster and start to assign the “best fit” subprojection.
- At the end of the process you put all the poligons(cluster) inside 0-1 UV SPACE, with no overlaps poligon
- Export in obi to Zbrush and check U
- In this way i work in Zbrush with a single texture(projection) map for the all body without utilize the useful "polygroup "tool to hide or unhide part of the mesh.
I unwrapped them all separate. (hands, head, body, forearms, upperarms plus hundreds of small pieces)I just wanted to make sure that nothing is overlapping
When you said this, what workflow are you using?
And if you create the texture in separately mesh when you come back to compose there are artifacts in the seam?
Probably for you is a silly question but for me …could save many headache
Bye

Amazing renders RJays. The comp looks super nice. I really like the super fine skin / bump details. You should show us some full body renders of your grim reeper. Really awesome stuff!
Kick ass model JiSung, your skills in ZBrush are amazing I think that you will go pretty far…
