Diamonds in ZBrush 4

Hi,
I am trying to make a diamond within ZBrush and would like to find out if there is a simple way to do it with the transparency, refractions, colors etc. So this is my question. How is it done?
I have not been able to find a straightforward tutorial on this topic in the forum yet, (at least since 2001). It seems, though, that ZBrush is not very accommodating in this regard yet. For example, I want to make a diamond ring, but if I have to put the ring on one layer (which makes it immovable) and then the diamond on another so I can make it transparent and then try to fit it within the ring and diamond holder etc. it becomes almost an impossible task from the middle ages. If somebody has a good idea on how it can be done in a simple way, please, do help with simple and easy to follow steps. Explanations on doing the refractions right would be great too. I just can’t find that info anywhere else.
Thanks.

EDIT: deleted because this post was moved from tutorials forum to here.
