DIABLO - A tribute for my favorite Game charcter

my goal here was to make an exact replca (for some strange reason…) of the commercial Diablo plastic doll. the model was created entirely in Zbrush (modeled and textured) and rendered in MR. a little photoshop composite was made to.

aRE YOU GOING TO ANIMATE?

it is allready riged and have a few test animations to it. the whole ZB to maya displacment maps worked very well. but i dont think this is the place to show that. after all we are in ZbrushCentral :lol:

but… the spike in the middle of his head looks strange… it doesnt have the same kind of detail level that the rest does. it just looks like a little bit that got forgot…

the rest is awesome… can we/i have a bigger pic of the plastic toy so i can have a look :smiley:

how the hell did you get such a render? do you have any other poses?

:large_orange_diamond: the crystalHorn should be more translucent.
:large_orange_diamond: perhaps use the Cavity shading. (you can bake it into your colormap for use in maya)

difficult to point out anything that needs work, this is a great likness.
can you post your maya / ZB workflow at renderosity?

Great job!! Very life-like. Love the subtle details of the viens and bumps etc. All the subtle eye candy stuff you never really got the admire while running for your life in the game… lol

PS: Gotta agree with some of the others, his soul crystal looks a little off… needs to glow a bit (if possible) and shouldn’t be that long probably… shrug minor detail though considering how great the rest looks =)

about the crystal - i agree that it should be a little more trnsperent and have a “crystali” look to it. as for the lenght it is excatly like the doll. as you can see in this next post.
btw - regarding the animation - how can i post files larger then 120k in here? or do i have to link to somewhere alse?

beautiful job. great details and accuracy. i think you deserve the top row! btw, how do you decide here which of the models should be in the top row? i really think this one should!

Ahh i see… forgot he was using the toy as a reference and not the game…in the game it looks much smaller… Any way still great work! And i agree, it is certaintly top row material from what i’ve seen.

i do not know who and how decide about the top row. thou it realy doesnt matter to me. you suport and the sharing of the knowledge that goes around here constently has far greater importanse to me.
