Detective

Hi everyone! This is a personal project called “Detective” inspired by the amazing original concept created by Leonard Furuberg
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/8lLQLm

I wanted to challenge my self with something I really enjoy doing: picking an awesome 2D character concept and trying to interpret it in 3D.
This time I’ve chosen that concept because I’ve truly loved the way Leonard simplified shapes and lines, and also because I wanted to experiment with some 2D/paper look.

As follows there’s a bunch of breakdown material. I really hope you will enjoy it:

Zbrush timelapse of the entire sculpting session ↓↓↓

Some Renderman renders ↓↓↓

And last but not least the amazing original concept by Leonard Furuberg ↓↓↓

A great result and thanks for posting the original concept artwork too. :+1:
The face of the concept has a strong resonance of the Rick Dicker character in The Incredibles.

Thanks a lot Marcus :purple_heart:

Thanks Jamie, I agree with you…Not easy at all to achieve that 2d/extreme expression in a 3D model… but it was fun to challenge myself . I really appreciate your feedback

Hahhahaa. You’re totally right. Same thing I thought first time I saw that concept. It seems like a blend between “Rick Dicker” and “Gilbert Huph” from The Incredibles

Great work Stefano, love it. Outstanding execution. The texture and line work overlay is very nice.
