Depth Clouds Tutorial (all ages and levels)

This tutorial is for the purpose of creating a cloud painting with a sense of depth. It starts 2d and ends up 2.5.

I recommend you draw the clouds in a different order so you can have your own image in the end. I’m sure it will still be easy to follow with your cloud offsets.

The light projection in this tutorial will come from behind us and above our heads. This is not the case for the scene light. Just leave the Z-brush light settings at default.

In the end I added a few primitive pieces with a hand model and changed the middle cloud puff to a rocket exhaust just by changing the rgb values with a simple brush, and smudging it. I also added smoke trail, by again using the sphere brush.

This was conceived because my brother, dad, and I went on a small trip today, in a crappy rental car. I stare down nature when exposed to it.
Enjoy.
