Demoreel needs help

People I am totaly stomped when it comes to makeing a demoreel for character modeling. So what I am asking you all is take a honest look at my demoreel that I made. Then give me crituqes, suggestions, rip me a new one but give reasons why and solutions on how to fix it. The programs i have at my disposal are 3ds max, z-brush, and adobe premire. This is my demoreel (http://www.youtube.com/user/majacit…u/0/DH4oiVcIqtI) help a fellow artist out.

Hey Quinton, I just checked it out and this is what I think could be better:

-At the start of your demoreel you have a name a photo and a grafic design, remember that the important part is that people remember your name, so make it all about the name, right now you have too much distracting stuff going on, and on top off that, it only takes less than a second before the screen is gone.I would also use a fade in and fade out.

-Your modeling is pretty decent, but the renders you made could be so much better, especially the lighting, so you should spend some time on learning that.

-The music is really a matter of personal taste, but in this case it doesn’t really suit the models you’ve made imo, I think you should take a nice slow composed piece that emits the emotion you think best suits your models.
Something like this (eventhough this one might be a bit over the top, but just to give an idea of what I mean…) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRpFBFzE9xM

-I think your demoreel feels like it has had too much cafeine, apart from the opening screen where your name is showing, I also think your models spin a little too quick, I also believe it’s a big plus if you use some other views on the model, like a close up going from top to bottom or the other way around while spinning around the model, or something like that, you could use reference from movies and try to mimic some camera actions.

-What you have going on right now is
Character spinning, on to the next and so forth, take your time man!
I would have this order:
Name character(maybe with a subtle still of the model on the background)
Then show your model from different views like I said before,
Name character and so on.

I would recommend to use a lot of fade in and fade out…

:+1: Good Luck
