DEFAULT ZSCRIPT REV 1.0

This is my problem. I’m on a Mac and I can’t get Southern’s scripts to work. I am especially
interested in getting the DEFAULT ZSCRIPT REV 1.0 to work in Zbrush123b. He also does not
give any instructions as to how I’m supposed to put it in my root folder,am I supposed to add all the scripts to the root folder that he has in his default script myself ? When I open Zbrush using this script and press on any of the buttons I get an error message that says: Zbrush has unexpectedly quit because an error of type 2 occurred. At present time I am happily using Aurick"s Script Selector but I would very much like to be able to add other scripts, that’s why I was looking forward to Southern’s DEFAULT ZSCRIPT REV 1.0 .

P.S.: I had sent this message in email form over a week ago but as to date I have been ignored. IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?

hello poppy

i cant help you much cause i have a pc  but my advice would be for you to change the title of your thread … good luck

I’m afraid that I’m on a PC, as well, so my helpfulness is limited. But I do know that the Mac requires everything to be in the same folder. If you have subfolders, that could be causing your problem. Cut and paste the contents of those folders into the same place that the default script is located, and see if that solves the problem. (Of course, you’ll also have to edit the text of the default script to remove references to the subfolders – Just open it in a text editor and make your changes. It’s easy!)

i had a MAC user i Think its been a while back and he asked me why my stuff worked and why other people didn’t.
Download this and see what happen http://www27.brinkster.com/ezbrush/mainTools.html
i allways keep my stuff in one Folder no matter were that Folder at it will read the other files place it on your Desk Top if you want or anywere else.
if Southern’s DEFAULT ZSCRIPT still doesn’t work in one folder post the link ill take a peek might need some text edited out of it.

Kaluman – As for changing the title of the thread I take it that you mean the title of my message, but I don"t know how to do that, but in the future I shall be more careful as to my choice of titles.

aurick – I did place the DEFAULT ZSCRIPT REV 1.0 in the root folder with the other scripts and took your default script and placed it into a seperate folder so as not to confuse ZBrush but that obviously didn’t work. I never put any references to sub folders into the default script or changed anything in DEFAULT ZSCRIPT REV 1.0 because Iam unfamiliar with scripting. I have read the easy instructions on scripting but I don’t think that they are easy because more questions come into my head like exact placement etc. But I do know one thing it’s easy for the people who know it, but they are not the people who need the instruction are they? Another thing with the computer when something is described as EASY or FUN usually you need to run for to hills, because invariably the instructor leaves out information or gives misleading instruction.

ÈZ-- I have downloaded your link and I shall see what it does or what I can or can"t do with it.

Thank you to all who have taken the time to try to rescue me from my problem.

Don’t place it into a seperate folder.
i seen the default thing once i think… it has a .PSD and a TXT on the out side of the folder then some stuff inside the folder…
what i do is you use NO Folder take everything and just drag over it and Right Click hit COPY then open up ZBrush and in ZScript chose PASTE from each folder… dump each FILE don’t use NO Folder if it ask you to over write some thing you better not.
like i said if it still don’t work it probley need some TEXT Edited out of it…

ÈZ --I have got at least 2 default scripts, one from AURICK and one from SOUTHERN when I was trying to use SOUTHERN’s I then put AURICK’s DefaultZScript.txt into a separate folder. All the other parts I have kept in the ZBrush123b folder. I then double click on the ZBrush icon which opens up the ZBrush program and then AURICK’s DefaultZScript.txt loads his AURICK’s DefaultZScript.psd and everything is fine,I can press on the buttons and the proper script loads and is ready to use. I can load other scripts by going to the Script>load, I can then search for any other script even if it is in the ZScripts folder that appeared when I first installed ZBrush on my computer. I am on a Mac so I just dragged all the scripts and their associated files onto that folder. The (Right Click hit COPY) instructions that you give I don’t think applies to Mac people, and
then you say–then open up ZBrush and in ZScript chose PASTE from each folder… dump each FILE don’t use NO Folder if it ask you to over write some thing you better not-- which I don’t understand at all I guess this do not pertain to a Mac either.

I can’t try anything right now because I had purchased ZBrush and yesterday my serial number timed out, I am waiting for a new permanent (and I use that word loosely) serial number. Then I will stumble around trying to make it all work.

Again, I thank you.
