Decimation master freezes ZBrush

After uppgrading to 4R7 Decimation Master doesn’t work. Every time i try to pre-process a mesh it freezes after a few seconds and there is no CPU activity at all. I have deleted all caches. When decimation master starts it creates 3 files i it’s data folder -
[ User\public\documents\ZbrushData\ZPluginData\DecimationMasterData ] - config001.zdc, config001.zdc.running and “subtoolname”.I.GoZ. If i delete the one called config001.zdc.running i manage to unfreez ZBrush but the process is aborted. If there is someone who knows what to do please post a reply and let me know.

Would be most greatful if someone could help me.

To be current, you should have ZBrush 4R7 P2.

There may still be issues with Decimation Master, even in Patch 2

In OSX Patch 1, it was very unstable to use. Though, the problem I discovered is slightly different. The “Use and Keep polypaint” feature is broken. The pre-process also seemed to take longer and than usual, all for a terrible decimation with scrambled polypaint. While troubleshooting both 32bit and 64bit with new objects, it locked and crashed often. A couple generic decimation tests worked fine, but nothing complex.

I submitted a ticket and it was confirmed. Stating it would be fixed in future patches. I was sad to discover Patch 2 did not fix the decimate with polypaint issue. It may be a sign of a bigger problem.

I have had issues, but don’t be fooled by the CPU activity that Zbrush shows. When you’re running decimation master, all the activity will show in a process that Decimation master runs. Does take an inordinate amount of time however, it seems.
