Decimation master broken?

Hi, I’ve used decimation master many times before at school, but after buying myself a copy, I cant seem to get Decimation to work. I tried just to decimate a cylinder that was only 33k poly’s- no luck. Cylinder with 8k poly’s- no luck. Despite how few the poly’s it seems to just get stuck in computing, and if I go for long enough it will freeze and crash.

Is there any way to uninstall and troubleshoot Decimation master alone? There no longer seems to be a download for decimation master since it “is included with zbrush” so the only way I know to re install Decimation master is re-installing zbrush entirely.

ps. Decimation master used to crash as soon as I clicked “pre-process” and that’s when I found an older version of Decimation master in my plugins so I deleted the old version, re installed zbrush and arrived at this new problem (the problem stated above). So, is it possible there are more old files somewhere like in registry that could cause this problem, if so, how would I clean them out of registry (or wherever else they may hide?)

I would try uninstalling everything from your old Zbrush (saving any custom alphas, brushes, etc.) and then reinstall the new one. It sounds like there could be some old stuff interfering with your decimation plug-in. If that’s the case there could be other stuff that might cause similar issues down the road. Best to do a clean install and go from there.

I had removed anything I could find from old installs, but I didn’t know if there could still be info hidden somewhere other than the pixologic folder, no clue if there is still registry files with info in it.

thanks for the response, ill double check.
