When you import a daz3d figure through GoZ why can’t I (1) just turn on the daz3d texture? (2.) How do you turn on the daz3d texture and polypaint on it then send back via GoZ?
IIRC Once you’ve imported via Goz you have to split up the figure into legs, arms, torso and head. Then import the textures.
Look first at how Daz splits the textures, then split the model into those parts.
Are there any scripts that can step through each uv group, stop then execute the uv flip then pick the texture for it?
No scripts, to my knowledge. Would be very, very nice though.
… script - I do not know,
but if you like to get the job done:
with the DAZzie present (most likely in red wax)simply
- divide to 2-4 millions of polys (to have something to paint on), turn off smooth for this
- turn on MRGB
- goto polygroups>>uv groups
- load up the textures for each part
- with the right textures active (and the right/corresponding polygroup selected [CTRL shift click]) goto polypaint>>paint from texture.
For any DAZmodel earlier then Gen8 you probably will have to split the model into its groups (Subtool), the reason for this: Gen8 has far less texture groups then previous models.
EDIT: sending the model back to Studio after you worked on it this way >> NO, will not work (you changed the polycount).
If you do not divide the model (right at the start) you will have more luck.
But then why GoZ the model anyway?
Adding morphs do not need any change on textures, and if you only want to alter the textures, then you can do this directly on each texture with PS or the like ?
