Dark Crystal Creature

Hi, my name is Thuan, first time posting. This is my first Zbrush project and Maya Mental Ray rendering. The model is based on Brian Froud’s concept art from “The World of the Dark Crystal”. The final render is on an optimized model with normal maps aiming for next-gen in-game engine.

Thanks guys for the great feedback. Mental Ray does a pretty good job with subsurface scattering and the rendering wasn’t too long since it’s on a low res model.

Maybe more light in the back part of the creature will let us better appreciate it.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m thinking of during another rendering with a higher geometry (level 2 0r 3) and will playing around with the lighting and rendering. Hopefully maya doesn’t crash.
