Dam Standard problems Zbrush4 (solution post#2)

I all, i’m testing a bit Zbrush 4, and when i decided to load this nice brush : Dam_Standard, that work perfectly with Zbrush 3.5, but with 4, i doesn’t have the same result at all.

I have try to lunch Zbrush 4 and zbrush 3.5 at the same time on 2 screen to comparate and try to understand but i didn’t find why it doesn’t work like in 3.5.

Here are the 2 results.

Thanks for help :).

PS : i have try to change setting from slash3 brush but i think i didn’t know brush modifier enough^^.

I’m taking the liberty of quoting Extra Dimensional here since this was his/her a helpful answer to a similar recent posting:

"Turn off the Smooth function and it works like before.

Located under Brush/Modifiers/Smooth. Turn it to zero and you’re back to the old DamStandard."

oh ! thanks, have try it but seems to not work when tried :(, don’t understand, but it look to work right now :). Thanks

There’s a ZBrush 4 version of the Dam_Standard included with ZBrush 4. You can load it through Lightbox - the Brush tab - or find it in the ZBrush 4.0/ZBrushes folder.

Hello Marcus thx for the Information. But is it possible to assign hotkeys to brushes from the Lightbox ?(ctrl + alt doesn’t work for me)
I like to assign my old Hotkeys to the same brushes i used before

Cody,

Put any favourite custom brushes in the ZStartup/BrushPresets folder. They will then be in the Brush palette at start up and you can assign hotkeys to them.

Ok Marcus, something related to icons (not to open other thread) i was following a zclassroom video “how to make custom brushes” and after that all my icons are less size than normal…
some advice to restore the default icon configuration
Thanks in advance

Mario,

Did you perhaps turn off Preferences>Interface>Wide Buttons?

I opened the Pref palette and move the icon slide but to 40 again and now all is Ok. When done the icon i did not touch the palette but your suggestion worked!!
Thanks very kind

Could you upload that brush?

As it says in post#2, you can load it from Lightbox. It’s included in the ZBrush 4 installation.

I couldnt find the brush in the lightbox for some reason but I found it in the ZBrushes folder and copied it to my ZStartup>BrushPresets folder. Once it was there I made a hotkey for it. Glad I found this thread, I dont know what Id do without the Dam Standard, thanks for the info.

this version(comes with zbrush4) of dam_standard brush is broken as well.
