Dam standard and other brushes leave gray trail bug

Hello wonderful people~

-Context: I updated to maxon 2023.1 update.

-Problem: Drawing with ANY brush creates this strange gray marking, and also my
lazymouse creates a lot of dots even though steppes are 0.

-occurs: Whenever a brush using the ALT function, or incline. Even after closing down and restarting Not sure if lazymouse and gray markings are related.

-Note: I can draw under it with masking? It’s probably just a setting. But i’d love to get some help with this!

greetings

Hi @meneerdekoekenpeer ,

Are you experiencing the problem in any file other than this one? If you close ZBrush entirely, restart it, and load the dog.zpr from Lightbox, do you experience any similar issue using the same brushes in that file?

If you do, then you will need to contact Support to take a look at your installation.

If not, then the issue is probably in that file. I would have to examine the file to be sure, but it looks like you may have overlapping geometry. So what could be happening is that you have a duplicate inactive subtool sphere which would be dimmer in color than the active subtool. When you press the surface of the active subtool down, the surface from the darker inactive subtool pokes through.

Try enabling “Solo” mode on the bottom left of the default UI viewport, or in the Transform menu. This will force the program to display only the active subtool.

If that does not prove to be the case, you can contact support and provide the file for examination if you wish.
