Custom Alpha Maps (.psd) appear full black in ZBrush 2022

Hi,

so ZBrush 2022 is the first ZBrush version I ever used, and I am making quite a good progress.

However, I have problems with custom Alpha Maps. They appear full black in ZBrush and so they aren’t working.

Extracting the .psd file directly from Substance Designer works just fine - I can use them in Zbrush without regression. However, .tif files from SD doesn’t seem to work also (they are not just black, but black with a question mark in the middle).

Trying to open the .psd file from SD in GIMP or Krita doesn’t work. Opening the .tif file and saving it as a .psd file works, but like mentioned above, these files are then fully black in ZBrush. No matter if I saved with GIMP or Krita - same problem. I don’t have Photoshop to test out, but I heard that Krita should work, but it doesn’t for me.

.png and .bmp saved in GIMP and/or Krita are working.

I am using 16bit grayscale of course.

Maybe somebody already experienced this problems and would be able to help. I assume the problem is with GIMP/Krita, not with ZBrush itself.

Any kind of help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
