Curiosity about peripherals.

Was just curious if other folks out there were goofballs like me and use something unusual with zbrush. Desk real estate is pretty skimpy for me with dual monitors and a tablet, so I wanted something that would help me with that. My solution was a speedpad replacing my keyboard while zbrushing.
Ironically enough, the speedpad is for gaming, and I don’t use it for a single one. This is what I’m talking about. I don’t wanna sound like a salesman or anything and so will avoid any further desciptions, but it does work very nicely with zbr.
Was just curious, and thought I would share. =)

I’ve seen those controllers before, that’s a really interesting
use for sure. I pretty much don’t ever move my keyboard,
my workflow is pretty dynamic so am in different apps
very frequently.

I’m on a Wacom 12x9 Intuos3, the 5-button mouse is awesome-
wireless w/ no batteries like the stylus (can’t say enough good
things about this one). I’ve got a piece of black construction paper
taped down over the control surface and the felt tip in the stylus
so it feels much more natural than plastic on plastic (more like
pen on paper, how I normally sketch). Sometimes I’ll put down
a pad of paper on the tablet (drawing on top of a stack of paper
can make it easier to draw softer lines) - you’d be surprised how
much material the stylus can see through

Otherwise my primary peripherals (non-zB) are a
ShuttlePro2 and an Edirol PCR-300.

I have one of those sitting on a shelf in my supplies closet and never gave it a try. I picked it up at a store that was going out of business for a few bucks and honestly forgot about it until your post. I’ll have to give it a try. How do you have it set up?

The setup for the n52 is really easy. Almost self-explanatory. When you install the software, it has a pretty intuitive key binding profiler right there at the beginning. You can pretty easily bind all of the functions you use regularly in ZBR to all of the keys. =D

Thanks :+1: I’ll give it a try this weekend. I’m stuck at home for Memorial Day, so I imagine ZBrush will get a workout.
