Hello everyone,

I’ve been a fan of Zbrush Central for several years, even though this is my first post.

I’m a huge H.P. Lovecraft fan and I’ve read many of his stories. A few years ago I did a concept of what I thought Cthulhu would look like, and ever since have been trying to force myself to do a Zbrush version of it. For one reason or another, I never got around to it, mainly because I’m lazy, but last week I started working on this box model.
I’m not much of a rendering guru, but I hope you like it, I am having fun working on him and will hopefully finish it sometime next week. I still have some thorns to add, eyeballs, and a lot of skin detail. The concept has wings, but I’m not sure if I’ll add them or not.

Yeah, a friend and I worked on the super sculpy one about 3 years ago trying to put a garage kit together. We actually got it molded, but made only a few copies of it.

I like this one very much as he’s very creepy. Care to show a full frontal and a backside?
And perhaps a mesh?

love those natural skin folds on your model and the claws look awesome.The concept is interesting and quite unique. How many subtools on this one? :+1:

Currently its three subtools and a very dense mesh. 1. The body ( SDiv 8 ) 2. Large face tentacles ( SDiv 6 ) 3. Toes, fingers and small face tentacles ( SDiv 6 ).

The body started out like this

Not quite a box, but a very basic shape.

Here are a few more angles. I still have more work to do on the back with the musculature and more sick disgusting stuff. I also have to rework the right side of the body some to remove as much symmetry as possible.

Nothing special added, just playing with three point lights in Zbrush and I really liked this material.

mmmmm…tasty! I like the design and flow. I agree, let’s see that asymmetry you mentioned and “slap on” some wrinkles and fine detailing. :slight_smile: Easy right? :smiley:
