subject: Zbrush artist

hmmmm,to say Crytek are a proffesional money making company that didn’t come across as been very proffesional

I am glad that a company put the word out in a site dedicated to the ZBrush community.
Be happy and look into it if you are good enough.

This company is a professional company, and they also produce much more than games i.e. Polybump All who are up to the task should consider applying. They coming here at ZBrush community, shows they want to take their graphics(Charachters) to a new level. Don’t put them down without good grounds to, this sometimes serve as bad(unwanted) publicity.

PS: I am not an employee nor am I a fan, I just got informed about the company.

Crytek, hmmm…

yeah i used to be interested in them when they were developing Silent Space, which was silently cancelled.

i just have a few requests for anyone who takes this job:

i thought the P-90 modeling in the original FarCry sucked, it was way too wide, look into getting it fixed   and for having the humans normal mapped, they sure didn’t look very good.

P.S. it’s interesting to finally see a company that is my competitor post in the same forums as me  :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi
Crytek is very much a professional company.

They have a great game (FarCry), a excellent 3d engine and a good Editior.
I am impressed with what I have seen so far from them.

Incorporating zBrushed models is something I’d like to see them do in their next gen games.

I would like to apologize for my earlier post. I am very new to the business end of game development and was thinking as a consumer when i should have been thinking as a businessman.

Crytek is wthout a doubt a very professional company, and FarCry is one of the best video games I have ever played. It is great to see that they are looking into hiring people who use the best 3D modelling application ever made. While i can not contribute to their project, I certainly do hope everything goes well and that it turns out to be even more successful than their first game.

FarCry is the most stunning game on the market, and I am sure that its sequel will be just as stunning or even more with the aid of zbrush.

I strongly encourage anyone who thinks they are good enough to apply for the job.

FYI… all you have to do to be a “Professional” game developer is make and sell a game… so if you program “Tick tack toe” in basic, save it to a disk, and sell it to your little sister for 1$ … Congradulations, you are a professional game developer! you did it to make money…

I dont like the idea of me buying farcry the day it was released, only to find out that there is a little SORRY note inside the box… NO SUCH THING AS A 64-bit version yet… and on the outside of the box there is a BIG AMD-64 bit LOGO in the supported hardware icons…

I would be worried about getting my paycheck… my name on the envelope , and the words “Check enclosed” in big letters on the front… only to open it to find an " I.O.U. "

sorry, I dont trust you guys. think I will pass…

You know, sometimes I’m confused with what exactly a company wants to see as far as samples go.

I’ve never been a big fan of portfolio design because you spend so much time making sure the presentation is good, but that’s not what you’re there for, you’re the high poly 3d sculptor, not a 2d portfolio designer.

Crytek guy, can you be specific on what sort of samples you’re looking for? Of course, you want screenshots of highly detailed 3D meshes done in ZBrush, but how many is enough?
