Crusader/village drunk in armor

Well, my projects are moving along slowly but steadily. Things are looking grim in sweden right now. There aren´t any jobs at all but that won´t keep me from looking though

Hope you guys like my updates
The arms are still a WIP and the legs are finished modelwise, just needs some texturing.

comments and crits are always welcome

Thanks for looking. I really enjoy this forum. Everyone has been really nice and forthcoming

WOW!

Very nice work  :+1:

Thanks for shareing

Seems as a sad clown head :sunglasses:
Cool modeling :+1:

He’s coming along very nicely, Chanchito. The eyes are very expressive. I hope that work comes your way soon…

Dickie

Looks good so far and the armor is fantastic only crit I have is the cheeks…maybe smooth the edges a bit…With the more distant shots it seems as though the cheeks are part of some invisible helmet or something…not quite sure.

Hope ya find work, if not limpa bread and lignon (hope i spelled that right) berries and cream cheese make for an interesting sandwich that I lived on once for a week cuz all i could afford was some limpa bread and had some leftover berries and cream cheese.
hahaha oy.

Thanks for the replies guys =) The “sad clown” look is a mood i wanted the old wardog to have, coming home after a lifetime-long crusade of war kind of feeling.

Thanks for the kind words Dickie, I sure hope it does

And as for “lingon limpa” bread and creamcheese. Sounds tasty! Going to give that one a try

The almighty updates. Put some standard materials on the armor and legs as well as the belts. Don´t mind the intersection between the belt and chestplate, tis´soon to be adressed
(Did I spell that correctly?)

I´m thinking about giving him a mantle but I´m not sure it would fit, and it would cover up a lot of detail which would be crappy indeed.

Anyways, hope you like it and thanks for a great message board.

Chanchito, his detailing is coming along very well. I love the leather straps. Are they ring objects compressed and multi-marked on the canvas into one polymesh? I need to make some
straps for a helmet, so any advice is good…: )

Dickie

Thanks for the comments Dickie!

I actually built the belt in a separate software(Max) around the base mesh of the armor that I also had in max. I then imported the belts to ZBrush and fitted the armor and belts together with multimarkers like you guessed. Hope that helps a little.

It helps a lot, my friend! Thanks for the methodology…: )

Dickie

I like the belt but in its current position it hides the great detail on the lower part of the armor…perhaps that was what you were referring to?
I don’t know tho how it could be moved to unhide that without hiding something else tho.

looks good so far!!

Dickie,
Can ya use edgeloops on your current helmet to create the straps? or is it to thin for that?
