Creating Holes through mesh?

Hello and thanks for your time,

Was wondering if there is a tool to bore a hole through the mesh? Similar to a typical Zsub using Standard Tool, but instead it will drill a hole and keep the mesh intact and orderly. ?

Just want to specify what I mean by a “Hole”.

I hole that completely goes through the mesh so you can see the background again; as if the mesh was erasing…like a donut hole.

Is there a tool or plugin that can bore a hole like that?

you can perform boolean operations inside of zbrush using subtools. But there isn’t a brush that allows you to do this. The only sculpting programs I know of that allow for that to happen are voxel based.

You can also use shadowbox to build up a mesh with holes in it from within zbrush as well.

Another way is to mask the circles or shapes you want to delete, then go to polygroup and “polygroup by mask”. “Ctl Shift” select only the Polygroup you want to keep (the holes are now not visible). Go to the Unified Skin subpalette and make a Unified skin. Pick up the mesh “skin” from the tools palette. You may need to play around with resolution and smoothing a bit to get what you want. Also you may want to sharpen it a bit with the clipping brushes.
