Creating a water tight object - dynamesh not working, alternative?

Hi,

I have been trying to create a single watertight object using dynamesh for 3D printing, the object has been remodeled from a scan so it is in pieces, the trouble I’m having is that when I dynamesh I lose most of the detail, plus get the “cheese grater” look all over my mech. I have blur at 0 and my resolution high, but it still shatters…

Is there a way to just weld around all edges that meet (subtool in subtool) and delete any that are now inside the outer “shell” of the subtool?

I’ve been struggling to get find a solution for ages, can’t seem to find one.

Thanks

I don’t know, if this is at least a little help for you:

#AskZBrush Videos have many solutions for many questions.
Search in YouTube.

Adding thickness (extruding inwards for instance) to the subtool before using Dynamesh should prevent cheesegrating. The extruded part will have separate polygroups for it’s edge and inner surface and can be deleted afterwards by selecting those polygroups and then Hide Part>Split Hidden and deleting.

Have you tried Remesh by union in the Gizmo options?
