Creating a hollow model

Hey guys,
So I am fairly new to Zbrush and seem to be at a wall when it comes to hollowing out an object. At this point I just want to create basically a hollow sphere (or a D20 in this case) I then want to split it in half and this is what I have done so far. When I go to delete hidden I am clearly not understanding the feature as all I want left is what I currently have visible. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

hi @TrippFellDown and welcome to ZBC!

So basically here you are using the boolean, but the boolean you see is not true geometry, the shape still overlap etc…
So you first must to create a Union mesh, and for that you you must to use Tool > subtools > boolean > Make Union Mesh.
This will create a new Tool, its not destructive process, so you can found the result the tool palette the name will starts with UMesh.

in common use, the Delete Hidden removes polygon from the current subtool and do not delete the polygon of another subtool.

Hope It helps,
Nicolas

You are an absolute legend! I have been on this roadblock for over two weeks. Thank you so much for the help!

@TrippFellDown I would suggest Michael Pavlovich’s Intro to Zbrush (updated) because what you’re talking about is part of the basics. Booleans is #50 in the playlist.

Thanks! I had been using the FlippedNormals Tutorials which have been great but they can be a little longwinded. These seem great for bite sized info!
